Frequently asked questions

How long has ExemplaCare been operating?
ExemplaCare has been established since March 2021 to meet a need for local care in the North Bucks area. ExemplaCare's registered manager Angela Nottage has over 30 years of experience in community nursing and NHS management. She brings a wealth of expertise to the company and our Senior Care Workers are highly experienced in care homes and domiciliary care in and around Buckingham.
How long are staff allocated per visit?
This depends on the need. There is no upper limit on time spent with clients and we can supply staff for shorter, 15, 30 or 45 minute visits.  We operate a log in and log out system.
Can the company be contacted outside office hours?
IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY PLESE CALL 999. However, if you need to contact us for any other reason, we are here at the end of the phone to help from 7am to 9pm, 7 days a week.
I have quite specific needs. Can ExemplaCare help?
We are able to handle care requirements across the full range of needs. We offer an in-house nursing service to meet needs as an alternative to (or to complement) NHS and Social Care provision.
How are staff allocated?
We carefully match our staff to meet clients needs and match their hobbies, interests and personalities with yours. We understand the importance of having the same members of staff to care for you however we also understand there may be carers who are more suited to you so feel free to discuss this with us. We will arrange for you to meet your prospective carers before they start and if your usual care worker is away on leave we will notify you in advance and let you know who to expect until they return. We have both male and female care workers who have all been trained to the highest standard and have been vetted by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
What if my needs change?
We are able to offer a scaleable service so our provision can change with your needs. We will regularly review your care plan with you and any necessary changes can be implemented straight away.
Are all of your staff trained to a certain level?
ExemplaCare staff are trained to the highest standard. Our staff have all undergone an extensive training programme in line with the "Skills for Care' requirements and those new to care have all undertaken the Care Certificate. They have also completed specialist areas of training in different disease management or procedures. Our staff regularly carry out further training.
Can staff communicate with each other about the support they provide when they visit?
Absolutely. We use an electronic, encrypted system to document all information so it can be immediately seen. We will ensure there is complete consistency in the quality of your care between different staff and we meet regularly to discuss changing needs, concerns and any other relevant information about our clients to be certain we are serving their needs most effectively.
Can staff help me with my medication?
Yes. Trying to manage your medication can sometimes be a worry or challenging. All of our staff are able to support you with your medication management. We can assist in prompting you to take your medication and be there for any extra support you may need. We are also happy to chat with others involved in your health care - liaising with district nurses, doctors and pharmacists to reorder your medication and collect it from the pharmacy for you.
Can I see a copy of the agreement that I will need to sign?
Of course. You will be given a copy of the Service User Agreement to read through fully with your family along with other helpful information. Once you are happy and any questions you have are answered, we can then proceed.
What if I have a complaint?
We always strive to ensure our clients are entirely happy with the care they receive and will handle complaints as quickly as possible. A link to our complaints policy is here. Please call us if you have any further questions about this or anything else, we are always here to help.
Can I see the CQC registration certificate?
