The ExemplaCare Day Centre

Frequently Asked Questions
1) What are the opening times?
Our Day Centre will be open every Wednesday from 10:00am to 4:00pm for the main session. Those attending the day centre can also choose to join us for breakfast between 9:00 and 10:00am and between 4:00 and 5:00pm for a light tea (both charged as an add on). Please indicate if Monday also interests you, as we hope to increase to 2 days (Monday and Wednesday) within the first month or sooner.
2) Where is it held?
Our Day Centre will be held in East Claydon Village Hall in the peaceful village of Botolph Claydon, just 6 minutes from Winslow and 13 minutes from Buckingham by car. The hall offers fully accessible rooms and facilities, ensuring a comfortable experience for everyone. It also features a beautiful garden which we look forward to making the most of during our time there.
3) What will the Day Centre consist of?
The Day Centre will provide a safe, welcoming environment where people can socialise, take part in activities, and receive support if needed. Activities include board and card games, film club, newspapers and book library, arts and crafts, gentle exercise, music sessions, group discussions, and wellbeing activities - see line up further down for activities. We will also provide refreshments and a freshly prepared meal during the day. We have a podiatrist, hairdresser, barber, massage, nail and beauty therapist in our schedule - each visiting once a month, enhancing health and well being and great value for money. We will send out the timetable of events for each day a week in advance.
4) How will it be staffed?
The centre has a manager and there will always be suitable provision of trained staff on site, including carers who are experienced in supporting individuals with different needs. Staff will have relevant training including safeguarding, first aid, moving and handling, and health and safety. All our staff are enhanced DBS checked and fully insured. We welcome input from our attendees - let us know if you would like to help in any way.
5) Is the food freshly made?
Yes. Freshly prepared meals and snacks will be available each day. We will aim to provide nutritionally balanced, tasty home-style meals, and refreshments will be available throughout the day. We have joined up with a local provider - Sage Kitchen Catering. They will be providing freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced, staple high quality meals that will get anyone's taste buds going. Yes. Trained staff will be available to provide discreet and respectful assistance if required. We will always ensure care is provided in a dignified and person-centred way.
11) Is there a booking system?
Yes. We will operate a simple booking system to ensure we have the right staff levels and can prepare activities and meals appropriately.
12) Is there a cancellation policy?
Payment is made on booking.
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations so that we can offer the space to someone else. We can then carry your space over.
